Gipuzkoa province president recognizes Nagorno-Karabakh

The Nagorno-Karabakh Foreign Minister Karen Mirzoyan visited the Basque Country and met with high officials throughout the region during the trip initiated by the European Friends of Armenia.
On Thursday, Mr Mirzoyan met with the Gipuzkoa Province President Martin Garitano in San Sebastian to discuss further cooperation between Nagorno-Karabakh and the Basque Country.
During the statements of both officials, the Gipuzkoa President, on behalf of the government of Gipuzkoa, recognized the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. “The suffering of these people has to end and they deserve a free and independent country that guarantees their future as a state, and the full respect of their culture and language,” Mr Garitano said.

Martin Garitano Larrañaga welcomed Karen Mirzoyan and stated that Gipuzkoa province recognized Artsakh as an independent state and expressed confidence that the Nagorno Karabakh Republic and the Basque Country would achieve international recognition.
Australia’s New South Wales Parliament Condemns Azerbaijani Aggression

The New South Wales Legislative Council adopted a motion on Wednesday, adding its voice to the international condemnation of Azerbaijan on its aggression directed towards the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh and the Republic of Armenia.
The motion, which was moved in the Upper House of Australia’s largest State by Parliament member Rev. Fred Nile, outlined the course of events whereby the Azeri armed forces on numerous occasions seriously violated the ceasefire agreement resulting in the deaths of nine Armenians.

The legislative council of Buenos Aires, Argentina, decided to discard a draft project to name a square in the neighborhood of Colegiales as “Republic of Azerbaijan” on Wednesday.
The bill drew a lot of criticism within the Armenian community, as the grounds of the project said that Azerbaijan’s early years of independence “were overshadowed by the Nagorno-Karabakh War with neighboring Armenia,” while, in recent years, “Azerbaijan had not only succeeded in pacifying the region but also is making great efforts to open up to the world as part of various international organizations, achieving economic and political stability for its people.”
